We are currently litigating a class action lawsuit against the 3M Company, Georgia-Pacific LLC, and Georgia-Pacific Consumer Products LP for their roles in contaminating Parchment’s municipal water supply with PFAS. The case has reached the discovery phase, and we are working hard at achieving the justice the residents of Parchment and Cooper Township deserve.
We want to let you know that we will be hosting an informational meeting from 7 PM-9 PM on Wednesday, November 20, 2019 in the auditorium at Parchment High School with updates about the case, the investigation, and information about residents’ rights. We will be discussing the hydro-geological survey conducted by Tetra-Tech, and upcoming legal developments.
See below for general information about the case. We encourage you to fill out the form on this page to be alerted of future developments in the lawsuit.
We have filed a class action lawsuit against The 3M Company and Georgia-Pacific, LLC regarding the contamination of Parchment, Michigan's municipal water supply with PFAS chemicals. The lawsuit alleges that 3M created, manufactured, and distributed PFAS while failing to disclose the dangers they pose to the environment and human health. It further alleges that Georgia-Pacific and its predecessors failed to properly construct, operate, maintain, use, and close the landfill associated with Parchment's paper mill, allowing contamination to contaminate the water supply.
PFAS contamination can have harmful impacts to human health and to property values, and certain deadlines to bring lawsuits can be triggered by the discovery of contamination. We believe that those responsible for this crisis should be held accountable.
